also, is your s/c the kind that gives you the bottom end power or top end, i may have asked you this before, but age is the great forgetter(?) anymore, considering an s/c as i had one on an a6 audi years ago and loved it, cool sound and very noticeable power increase, thanks again, kevin

I took them to my wheel and tire guy and they had it done for me. Powdercoat is much tougher than paint so they hold up great. Mine were done over a year ago. The clear takes a little of the shine away vs. an exposed, polished finish, but makes cleaning much easier and eliminates the need for any future polishing, so we'll worth the trade-off in my opinion.

The supercharger kicks in strong starting at about 2,200 rpm and pulls all the way to the recliner. Doing forced induction on these cars has to be done right and I posted a lot of what "right"means in a thread here or on Rennlist recently.

Hope that helps.

thanks, i agree that powdercoating is the way to go with wheels...i don't know how the factory wheels are done, had an A8 with the 'gullideckels' that were polished from the factory and were great, but i doubt they were powdercoated, anyway, some years ago, in the 90's i had some benz wheels clear pc'ed and they were bulletproof but turned a bit yellowish after a couple years, i am sure they have that sorted by now as well...that is my next project for the 997 and maybe a set of MY02's for the 964..., thanks again

Here's a shot of mine when it had the ADV wheels on it. Liked the way the overhead lights reflected off the GT Silver and wheel spokes

It's an rs in arctic silver. Not common. Black bits were orange. Cosmetic mods are minor. Cup lip and sharkwerks tips, fikse wheels (for track). Lots of goodies underneath.
