orange green gunk in oil filler tube?

I had to add a little oil for first time since I purchased my 06 Porsche . The car is running great and has a little over 70,000 miles. The car was checked at Porsche before I purchased it and all checked out good. When I opened cap on oil filler tube there was a little build up of greenish brown or orange gunk at top of tube and a little bit around cap? You guys have been very helpful on the forum so I figured I would ask . I was getting a little smell of anti freeze a few weeks ago until I changed cap on reserve tank. My antifreeze level hasn't moved a bit. Can I be burning antifreeze? Or is it normal to see that with a car with my miles? Thanks

If it was antifreeze, you would see a loss of antifreeze and you would likely be able to detect the smell of antifreeze in the exhaust itself. At least this was the case when one of my cars (non-Porsche) had a head gasket leak. I think you are good there.

I Googled the phrase "porsche gunk oil filler cap" and see lots of discussion about this. It apparently isn't unusual and is due to condensation. Google it and see if that soothes your worries.

Note that it also seems more prevalent when you do a lot of short range driving and the car doesn't get the proper time at full heat to cook off all of the water. If you do a lot of short trips then this is even more likely.

Very common with my old 07S...it had 44k miles.
Seems to be water/condensation.
Never really worried about it.

The condensation found in oil tube of cars used in too many short runs is, in my experience, a frothy gray residue of water and oil contaminants. I have never heard of green/orange condensate and can think of no reason for that color combo in your filler tube. If the others posters are saying that they too have seen this particular color/s I'm surprised but ok. I wonder, though, if you would see a small loss of anti-freeze if there was a beginning head gasket problem. If it was my car I'd have a tech look at it just for peace of mind.

Gpjli has a good point about the color. If you do have someone look at it, just make sure they are really trustworthy. I can imagine there would be a lot of monetary incentive to tell you your head gaskets need replacing.

Maybe it would be worth cleaning it out, then checking to see if it reforms?

Yes the yellowish color . I cleaned it out and will check in about a week . I did recently have a smell of antifreeze, but I changed cap on over flow tank and smell is gone . I have the car about 2 months and it was checked out at Porsche . Would they have caught it if I had a head gasket problem ?
