Tire Pressure air hose chuck and guage

TIA for your replies.
I'm looking for a reliable chuck to use with my garage air compressor. I've had two really sketchy chucks so it is time to call a friend. What works and do you like to have a guage built into the chuck or use a separate guage? Personally, I've always used a separate gauge.

A bit surprised nobody has a favorite gauge or chuck to offer.
Here is what I came up with. This is well made and is a perfect combination if you already use a compressor.
Accu-Gage EZ Air Check

I use a separate digital gauge rather that an analog.

Thanks. Do you mind saying which digital gauge you like?

Digital gauge here too. I think it's a Slime brand. Bought it at one of the big box retailers in the automotive section for a couple of dollars.

It seemed like a good idea to report back. I've been using this guage for a few weeks and have to say I've grown fond of it.
How it works is the magic. First, clip the business end onto the tire valve. There is a check valve so it won't leak. Now, the guage will display current pressure. Add air by filling via the schrader valve buit onto the guage and adjust pressure using the bleed valve. Cake. If it was digital and same configuration I'd be that much happier but this is pretty darn good.

I've collected several tire gauges over the years, from pen style, dial indicating, and one similar to your picture that came with my compressor. The only problem is they all read different pressures within +/- 5 psi. I have no way of really telling which one is the most accurate. I tend to gravitate to a small dial gauge I have because it fits in the palm of my hand, comes in a leather pouch, and is convenient for auto-x days and storing in the glove box. I use that one as my standard.

Happy with my digital I bought from Griots. As to calibration? Who knows, but it matches exactly the tire pressures on the dash so it works for me.

I use a Craftsman gauge on the air compressor line. When you squeeze the handle it puts air in the tire, as soon as you release the handle it has a reasonably accurate stick-style pressure readout. Its a fast way to get the pressure just about perfect without a lot of swapping between the pump and a separate gauge.

If I want the most accurate reading or I'm not using my compressor, I use a Longacre tire gauge... billed as a racing tire gauge. It has a pressure lock that locks in the pressure reading, and a quick release button to releases the pressure reading and simplifies letting air out of the tire by just letting out a puff at a time (or more if you hold the button longer).

It's available on Amazon here:

I have tons of gauges. Here is my favorite and will display in tenths

Obviously, marketing claims to be the most accurate.

Here is what they say;
This is the ultimate tire gauge for the performance enthusiast. If you like to have the best tool available, this is the gauge for you. The MS5510B is the most accurate tire gauge available. It reads tire pressure from 0 to 60PSI in .01 increments, with a large, back-lit LCD screen to make it easy to read. The convenient bleed valve makes it easy to drop the pressure if you overinflate. If you have a motorcycle, an off-road vehicle, ATV or performance car, get the most out of your expensive tires with accurate, consistent inflation.

I became curious about the MS-5510B gauge and looked it up. It's a beautiful and well featured product.

However, being a tech guy by profession, in their detailed specs I notice that they advertise this gauge as having PSI 0.1 "resolution". Note that resolution is not the same as accuracy. If it had 0.1 PSI accuracy it would be a wonderfully accurate gauge. However, 0.1 resolution says nothing about accuracy. What it means is the readout produces readings in tenths but that number is likely to be no more accurate than any gauge that reads out whole PSI numbers (or they would list the gauge's accuracy as well).

In any case, I'd argue that tenths are meaningless with respect to tire pressures. Nice gauge though. I just didn't want people to be misled by the tenths resolution number (although in the quote above it is stated to be hundredths (0.01)).

I agree on all counts.

I bought it because I really liked its analog brother. Its brother was unusable at night so I bought the backlit sibling.

If you look closer, they even claim it to have .01 increments. It's all about marketing. However, I really like it. You can even check out the reviews on Amazon.
