I would imagine it is pretty boomy that way- I have my bass flat. Although I know some like stronger bass. Getting a new set of drivers for the sub maybe today, so I'll see if I get improvement.

jmt053 is infamous around these parts
I looked online for the Focal speakers mentioned in the original post. Looks like are discontinued. Are there Focal substitutes with similar sound characteristics and dimensions?

Unfortunately I haven't installed the Dension yet, so I'm working old-school with CD's. Plan to install the Dension 500s BT soon and then use ipod.

I have my treble set at 4+ and bass at 2+. I also have that surround sound setting (can't think of the name right now) set to on. I have tried turning it off multiple times but I honestly prefer the sound with it on.

The Integration series would be the best, although you may still be able to find the referenced ones on eBay. Be careful of copy retailers though.

after spending some time in the garage listening to the speakers, i realized the center speaker is still active. Although it adds sound for better staging, i can tell the center speaker is working hard to keep up with the Focals. For now, i will leave it as-is.

Ryem3, i hear u about the Bass.. when i listen to it in the garage with the engine off, Tre +1 and Bass 0 is great. However, once i am on the road, even with the top up, i usually need to turn up the bass for better fill-in.

True about the bass and the car environment. Made the Bose sub driver switch last night and you just need a bit more bass in a car when driving.

I would definitely disconnect the center. It is probably much louder than the Focal tweeters and is drowning them out a bit.

Focal isc100 vs ic100?

Hello All
Besides some power handling differences do you know if the IC100's will fit in my 997 front doors? Thanks much.

Not familiar with those. What size are they? Anything going into the doors will need custom spacers. Check out my budget audio install thread for plenty of tips.

Yes, those would work fine and would be a great combo for the is200s. I think the cvs100s that I used are perhaps even a little deeper.

Those are the integration series, the efficiency should be perfect.

Bose is gone

Yeah I'm gonna do the 8" combo set as well, and a Dension Bt 500S, just gotta get it down to jays shop for the instal, have 2 4-channel @ 100W/ch old school PPI amps that are going in as well, and a tubedriver tube amplifier that I'm gonna see if I can fit in somewheres, should be pretty sweet.

I would even try the combo with the stock Bose amp. Results are quite good.

Post your results in any case.

Amp?

I want to try the Bose amp but it sounds like something might be wrong with it, when I turn the radio off there is this popping sound like 15-seconds later and I think one of the front right door speakers is blown, but then I've heard that a loose clip somewhere in there can vibrate and sound like a blown speaker, might have to bring out the oscilloscope..................

Now that's a good reason to make a switch! Keep in mind that the PCM is sending out a fiber optic signal, which won't go into a normal amp. And the ridiculous MOST conversion harness is like $600. You might consider finding a used Bose amp instead. A number of choices for you, let us know which way you go.

Thanks ryem3

In speaking with Jay at Gold Star Audio it sounds like I will just need a sound processor by Audio Control $400 then my Dension 500S BT and then I can run my PPI Amps, but I am going to first look more closely at isolating the shut off "pop" and perhaps that means getting a used or repaired Bose amp, but it's very tempting to get all that new clean power from the PPI's???????
