WHEELS Wheels wheels what to do?

Yep, those RS171s look awfully good on your car. Its a pretty tough choice for me to make. I called the guys at Wheel Enhancement and they have several of the wheels in question in stock. So I'll be going there this week and checking them out in person before making a decision.
Thought I still haven't gotten a complete sign off from the wife yet.... yea I know, but gotta keep things on an even keel with the household. And to make matters worse, I found a picture yesterday of a 991 with some HRE FF01's that looked pretty darned nice.

Before & After Wheel Change
Thanks - tough choices for sure. I bought mine from John Brown at Wheel Enhancement too. Just my opinion, but I find that when there get to be more than 5 twin spoke forks that either the spokes get a little to thin for my taste or the wheel starts looking too busy. I also like it when the forks have different spacing within than between so you can see that they're actually 5 sets of twin forks instead of 10 evenly spaced spokes.
The other wheels that I think are very good looking in person are the set of new wheels on the 991 that have kind of a flat fork spoke. There was a new 991 in the showroom when I was having my PPI done on my car and I just kept walking over an looking at them - very nice, but I think they may only come in 20" diameters, which kind of eliminated them for me - the 19" are a nice compromise between performance and aesthetic appeal (18s are probably better for the track, but I don't think they look quite as nice).
Have fun with it - wheels can transform the total look of the car. When I bought my car it had Chrome RUF wheels on it, and although I like the look of Genuine RUF wheels, the chromed ones were very heavy - I saved 9 lbs/corner with the Champions and Nitto Invo Tires vs the Chrome RUF wheels and the Potenzas on them.
1st pic is with new bumper and RUF Wheels for an apples to apples comparision. 2nd pic was with original bumper, RUF wheels, & big red brakes. 3rd pic is with new bumper, Champion Wheels, & PCCB brakes. Next step is Bilstein B16 Damptronics with a slight ride height drop, Cargraphic Front end Airlift, and a complete RSS Suspension Setup. Have all the parts, just need the time

Saw the wheels today
I went to Wheel Enhancement today and got a good look at the wheels. I've narrowed my choice especially down to the HRE P40 or the FF01. Surprisingly the FF01 only weighs ~1lb more for the front wheel and ~2 more for the rear.
The price difference is pretty huge though, almost $3k when all is said and done with tires and taxes. So the P40s are a bit better looking, a little lighter and a lot more $$$.
Hope to have this sorted and ordered by the weekend.

Those HRE's are nice looking but the price of them is steep. I've wanted a set for my car since I got it...but just couldn't see spending that much money for rims on a car that is for pleasure only. They look really nice though..have to say and I'm sure there is some significant weight savings there too.

Maybe used wheels?
Well someone on the forum has offered to sell me a used set of RS98s with low miles. I'll be considering this if they're in good shape.
Do you know if 19" wheels from a C2S will work ok on my C2? He's got 305s on the rear which the salesman at WheelEnhancement thought could potentially rub.

- used wheels are great deal if u can trust the seller.
I saved over 50% when i bought my HREs (thanks TBone!) and haven't had any problem.
- what would be the reason u can't run 305s on ur c2, according to the salesman ?

Wheels have finally arrived!
Yea, its been almost a month, but I saved a ton of money by buying a used set of wheels.
They look practically new, can't wait to get them mounted up on the 911 this weekend. These wheels are just a little lighter than the P40s I was originally after, so that is cool. Maybe the P40s are slightly better looking, but these ought to make my P-car look really nice.
