If it is power steering fluid just be sure you get the right one to top it off. Pentosin is simply a brand name and some of their power steering fluids are mineral based and some are synthetic based.

 

Thanks ! I hope that I ordered the right one: the cover of the reservoir says Pentosin CH11s. However, this compound has been replaced by Pentosin CHF202, and that was the one I ordered. Right ?

 

I would also check with the dealer to confirm the replacement grade and that they are compatible ( can be mixed).

 

It looks like they can be mixed according to Pentosin.

I bought a can of Pentosin CHF202. The texture of the fluid is exactly the same as the leak, confirming that the leak is Pentosin. You were all right!

I filled the reservoir appropriately. It needed very little, less than an italian espresso coffee.

Next: take it to my favorite indy shop or dealer to repair the leak. Thanks all for your help!

 

The leak was an O-ring poorly adjusted!! Jared at ForeignAffairs motorsports took care, labor charges only. Now testing it for a week, and monitoring fluids and garage floor... Thanks all for your help!!!

O-Ring. Yep. I was doing a search and found this thread. I went for a spirited drive today and parked the car. When I came back out the car had puked all of the pentosin onto the ground. Crazy. 2nd time it's done this in my manual 997 Turbo. It was an o-ring last time. It's so empty that I barely got home with the clutch barely working. If I fill it up with Pentosin can I drive it to my shop for repair or should I flat bed it? Just goes into the resivour for power steering under the bonnet right? Could I be riding the clutch too much causing this to occur twice now??

 

Pentosin...dark green,,,myself if not leaking a lot, id just check it on a regular basis

 

It emptied out onto the ground. Clutch barely works.

 

I agree , almost same color as Pentosin PS fluid
