Do 911 owners generally have a second driver.

The Cayenne only gets driven to places like Costco, when storage space is needed. Otherwise the 997 goes grocery shopping, takes me to and from work 5 days a week and participates is all errands that need to be run, rain or shine. If I did not need to go places like Costco I would be very tempted to buy a 993 coupe so when it rains the cabriolet could sit inside.

2008 Acura MDX is my daily driver, I do drive the 911 3 or 4 times a week, weather permitting. We have unexpected hail storms here when it rains so I avoid driving it when it forecast for rain. I don't drive it in the snow either, simply b/c both my DD has been rear ended b/c the person behind me decides to brake too late.

You are not alone...911's are special and just don't belong in certain parking lots :^)
Although my other mistresses, I mean daily drivers, are Porsches too. My poor Cayenne S has become the "beater upper"... in name only, she still looks great.. but if I need to take a car some where I don't know or down town in the city where parking sucks and things get dirty.. the cayenne it is. I still keep the Cayenne in meticulous shape so no hate mail.
Not only are door dings from jerks, nicks, rock chips and scratches the bane of my existence... I have my paintless dent\ding remover guy on speed dial just in case :^)... But finding a parking spot for me is an adventure every time and has caused many scuffles between me and my wife when were shopping or going out to eat. I guess walking long distances in high heels is tough for the wifey
I do rotate my cars so as to distribute the mileage of my commute over the other cars too..
One thing to remember.. Porsche's do NOT like to be garage queens either. My Pcar mechanic swears that the Porsches with the most problems, ims and rms, are low mileage examples that don't get used properly. So I try to drive each one a few times a week and drive it like I stole it. God is good and I have had no major issues in 15 years of Porsche ownership. I will just keep on looking for that perfect parking spot where ever I go

Drive mine everyday outside of snow days. Grocery store, home depot etc. Drive my 91 Grand Wagoneer to the cabin and during snow days.
It doesn't even go in the garage. It's a great car but a car none the less. Who you saving it for, the next owner?

I use my 06' as a DD as well....Dr Porsche never meant these to be garage queens....a grocery getter, errand runner, etc etc....call it what you will....why deny yourself a perfectly good daily thrill? Lifes too short...blahblahblah....DRIVE and ENJOY!!

When I picked up my 911 2ish months ago, I thought it would be sunny days only etc... Turns out the cayenne hasn't moved and I've put 4.5k miles on the little car (2.5k was a long trip). I'm going to enjoy it until the snow flies and it's stored...

I have a 2nd and a 3rd, a 4th, and a 5th. My car is now 8 years old and has around 16k on it. To be far it was in pieces for over a year and is not safe to drive when the road temps go below 50 degrees and not everyone in the family enjoys riding in it.

daily driver
I have an all wheel drive Lincoln MKZ as my commute is over 50 miles each way 3 to 4 days a week, although I have taken the 997 to work a couple of times.
