I bought my 997 with intentions of using it as a DD.... and I could seeing as how it's summer year round here in swfl. BUT I do find myself driving my company lease, etc.

My 996T is my primary DD, though I'll substitute the other car in about 1-2 days a week. They are complementary to each other in that they expand the breadth of capabilities covered. Though the relationship is symbiotic too in that it's nice to trailer to the 996 to a track day just in case of the off chance a support vehicle is needed.

What neither do well is fuel efficiency. This is where my wife comes in as she is my personal carbon offset - RAV4 EV. It's also a great car for scooting the family around on the weekends as it's just the right size between the other ICE vehicles.

Sure they do. Plenty of room for the bag on the passenger side.

Some odd assumptions here on your part. First you conclude that those who use their 997's as DD's don't play golf. Then you assume that those who do must play by themselves since only the driver and the bag fits in the car. The guys I play with live and work all over town so everyone drive their own car and we meet at the clubhouse. You never heard of that? How do you go about it? Drive all over town in a minivan and pick up your foursome one by one?

First of all I wrote this in jest, did you not see the "lol" preface? Second, only on a couple of occasion has the group I golf with driven separate cars to the coarse. If that makes my friends and me "odd" so be it. Why are you looking for a conflict on such an innocuous thread? If I offended you I am heart-fully sorry as it was not my intent.

Easy now. A lot of lurkers read these threads as part of their pre-purchase research. Just didn't want someone considering a 997 as a DD to think he/she would have to give up golf as you suggested initially. That's all.

Use my 911 as my daily driver. It works well for just myself or a friend but when it comes down to going to the shooting range, none of my long range rifles fit in the frunk and keeping them in the back seats is frowned upon by LEO's. With that I just use the girlfriends x-terra. Nice relaxing suv to drive and great for our little family.
