Oh you guys are right ! I just realized that I washed it on Saturday and didn't drive it until Monday morning - which is when I heard the noise

 

Yep, the car is parked under cover. (if that's what you are asking?!)

 

I also tried not engaging the brakes after the car wash. It helped a little with noise reduction.

What I haven't tried is actually driving the car for a few blocks to evaporste the water. I should try that soon since that's what I used to do to prevent that ugly rust color on the rotors/hats.

 

OP... iirc, the .2 cars have hill assist, explaining the car not rolling back when parked/braking on a hill while in gear.


Id have your suspension checked. could be a number of things.... an exhaust hanger out of spec, motor mounts weak at a certain angle,etc.
