New GTS
Just joined forum today. I have been reading posts for the last few days and thought it was time to join. I got my 2011 GTS a few months ago . Its my first
Porsche. So far no buyers remorse. I did a day at the track already 2 wks ago
at Summit Point Raceway in W. Virginia. Amazing experience. I strongly
recommend the FATT (Friday at the track) program there. I learned so much in 1 day.

So, first day of spirited driving. 5 of us met nearby, and did about 1.5 hours of canyon carving on our way to Canepa Design in Scotts Valley. Fantastic car! Frankly, easier for me to drive fast than my departed GT3, which could be dangerous for my license. I think having the nannies gives me more confidence, but not overly confident. The car is very well-balanced, and has a great torque curve. Unlike the GT3, I don't need to get it above 4500 rpm to really feel the thrust. And, of course, it's quieter, less stiff even in Sport mode, and with the Shark Werks center muffler delete sounds almost as good. I think it's a keeper even with the PDK.

At the top of the page click on User CP. That'll take you to a page where you can personalize things. In the left frame, you'll see Edit Avatar. Go there.

Haven't run it hard at all, and no canyon-carving, so, no opinion yet. Just droned up the highway yesterday. Initial opinion, doubt that it's the driver's car that the GT3 is, but that could be my unfamiliarity with the GTS to this point.

Sorry, can't compare as I've no experience with either. My Porsche progression has been '99 996C2, '95 993TT, and '04 996GT3. I went with the GTS as I viewed it as the next step "down" from the GT3.

Congrats. You mind telling a little bit about your 993TT? Was it a gem that would be worth $150k+ today or did you rack-up a bunch of rough miles on it? The 993TT is so interesting to me. I saw a red Turbo S with low miles listed for $350k the other day!

Yep, it's the one that got away. Shoulda kept it!! It was primo. It was polar silver with the marble interio. There was a mod on it, though, a TurboS ECU taking it to 424 hp. It went from me to John Gordon who turned it into a track car.
