In the past month and a half the listings went from 17 to 31ish (some 997.1s and 991s too). PSE is nice (not as good as in the 991) and SPASM actually is a fairly common option, since you say yours doesn't have either I am pretty sure I know which car you are looking at. When I was doing my search I found any car without an MSRP of over about 120kish was missing an option I wanted. Definitely post pictures when you get yours!

One of my favorite Targa vids. 8:25 for the Targa segment.

Thanks for the insight. I haven't seen any 997.2 T4S with SPASM for sale. Maybe I missed it. If you could PM it to me or if anyone in who is reading this thread comes across one, please let me know. I'm trying to stay in the 60-70k range if possible. If I went higher than that I might as well go all-in and stretch my budget into 991 territory. I'd prefer not to do that as I want a 997 first. I just love the look of the 997 wide body style with the updated lights and middle reflector. I'd eventually like a 991 after I enjoy the 997.

Are the Targas with SPASM that you are seeing 997.1 models? I limit my searches to 2009-2011, so I don't even see those.

Oh and yes, I've seen that video before... it's a good one. Chris Harris is a great reviewer. Wish he had a tested a manual though.

So, I pretty much had everything lined up and ready to go across country to look at a couple of cars, but ironically I had last minute travel to Stuttgart so I'll be here until next weekend. Don't get me wrong, I love the home city of Porsche... lived here for many years, but this couldn't have come at worse timing.

If the cars I am eyeing are still available in a week or so when I get back, I'll be looking forward to posting a pic of the new ride... whichever one I go for, if they are still for sale.

The wait is killing me

I currently live in center of Stuttgart!

Have you been down to MotorWorld in Boeblingen yet?

Shoot me a pm if you want to meet up for drinks.

Regards,

CF

No, never been to MotorWorld. Though maybe I've passed by it. Is that the car meeting that happens near the flea market in Boblingen? My girlfriend dragged me to the flea market a few times and I saw a nice gathering of cars out there. I've been to the Porsche Museum, though. It amazed me how many people walked right by the 959 to look at newer cars! I was the only one with my jaw dropped.

I also lived in the center of Stuttgart at one point of my living here. Right near the Dobelstrasse train stop. When I finally moved into a house I lived right next to Boblingen in Schonaich.

MotorWorld is home to several car dealers: Lamborghini and Beentley Stuttgart, Ferrari and Maserati, McLaren. There is also the V8 hotel and a cafe and other companies that offer products and services connected to cars.

Ok, I Googled it and yes we are talking about the same place. On Saturdays, I guess they sometimes have car meetings out there. I've been there a few times but never inside the dealerships.

Well, bad news... the car I was going to fly to check out this weekend got sold. Not really many others with my specific criteria out there for sale so this could potentially be a long process to find another. Oh well, guess me and that car weren't meant to be.

The search continues...
