Moving the seat back moves the steering wheel further away.
I'm trying to move the wheel closer to my chest. Actually, I've got the seat in a good spot.

Whoa, don't mean to be rude or anything, but I'm not understanding this. Do you have super long legs and tiny arms or something?

On no sir you are being helpful, I just lack emoticons
I'm 6'8" tall and pretty well proportioned. With the seat all the way back I get a full clutch depression and good brake ergonomics but my arms feel too extended. Putting the seat back farther forward would mean I brush the roof and is a non-starter wearing a helmet.
Helps?

But seriously I'm not sure. I'll be interested to see some suggestions.

You probably already know this but just making sure. Under the steering wheel column there is a lever to adjust the steering wheel position. Pull the lever down to unlock, move the steering UP/DOWN/IN/OUT, push the lever up to lock.

LOL. That is the first thing I correct after getting my car back from service.

I'm not sure if replacing the steering wheel is an option for you, but I swapped to the Gembella steering wheel and it does extend further to the chest since the wheel is "taller".
PS: I swapped the wheel caused I didn't like the tip switches on the original wheel, not because of height / driving position.

You guys had my brain working hard trying to understand how that would solve his problem, because in my mind thats accomplishes the absolute opposite of what he wants to do.

My car has non-power sport seats. There are a couple track seats that get me marginally lower. I'm resisting this since I really enjoy a stock looking car. Porsche got it right in every way.
