Coil Pack question. Need some advice.
I am a guy that usually uses Genuine Porsche parts. I am going to swap coil packs and plugs in the next few weeks. I go onto ECS Tuning and find three options for this car:
Genuine Porsche - $354.48 for a complete set
Bosch - $239.70 for a complete set
Beru - $397.14 for a complete set
Normally, I would say, buy Porsche. I've read tho, that Porsche has used Beru and Bosch to manufacture their coil packs in the past and perhaps even presently. My 05 S has 45k miles, and I have experienced a mis-fire or two, so I think it's time. Thoughts?
Thanks for the info.

I used beru in my 06 and have about 15k miles in them since i installed them. No issues. Car runs perfectly. I would say whichever you can get the best deal in if the three you mentioned. As long as you get them from a reputable seller all three probably perform similarly.

I bought mine from Suncoast. they were beru brand. When I took out my originals at 37k miles, they also were beru. (08 4S cpe).
I was planning on doing plugs only, but thought as long as I was in there, why not just do it all early. The install was/is straight forward, and I completed it in just under the book time of ~ 4 hours.
Replacement of plugs and coils made zero difference in performance for me.

Patrick,
No difference possibly bcoz your mtce was too early. Nothing wrong with over maintenance --- I myself am guilty of over mtce also.

^^ I agree with you. But,when I buy a new to me car... I typically like to baseline everything fluid related/maintenance related, esp if limited maintenance histories are apparent.so, figured as long as plugs are getting done, and im doing the work, its only $500 bucks and 4 hours and a few beers, so I took on the job.
besides, funny as it may seem, plugs are like a once every 6 years or 50k miles... something silly like that. just want to be a good P car boy and stay up on all this stuff.
