C4 wheel hop in tight turns - normal?
Ladies and gents got a qq for you.
This is my first AWD vehicle so i don’t know too much about it.
I have 06 C4 and noticed that in parking lots when im in tight turns, the front outside wheel hops as if it wants to spin way faster than the car is moving.
Is this normal? Seems like a sure way to destroy a dif.

i noticed that it does it when im going backwards or forward. So in the morning i back out straight because im next a curb and when i turn almost to lock to the right going forward it will hop.
Going backwards in the evening after work at a different parking lot with tight turn outside hops as well.
But if you’re saying yours is the same so i guess that’s gust how the awd is.
thanks!

This has nothing to do with 4wd and is no reason to be sold new tires. All 997's will "push" the front wheels if you crank it too hard from a start or at low speeds. The steering angle under those conditions (it is worse in the cold when traction is less) is too acute (wheel turned too far) causing the tires to slip on the road and the suspension to pogo as the tires skid rather than roll. The "cure" is to familiarize yourself with the steering feel and reduce steering input (counter steer) as you feel the front start to plow on the road. This is one of the few things of which you can say: they all do it".

I think my C2S does it too but I am not quite sure....does it make any sound when it do that ?
I always wonder if there is something wrong with my steering or some joints or something.....it is most noticeable when I am doing a quick U-turn....

C2S: I usually don't notice this in the summer with summer rubber. But it is extremely obvious with summer tires when the temperature drops below 45F to 50F. It also was more noticeable when my front tires were 5 years old -- much better with fresh rubber.

Thank you all for the info. Now that its in low 30s and I'm a little more intuned with the car (had it almost a month) I understand and feel exactly what's going on. Its exactly as you guys described it.
P.S.
I know 30s I should not be driving on PS2s but it was almost 70 on Monday
Winters are on order
