Chrome Blackout on Targa

I've seen a few examples, but this one looks pretty good. I like the Targa with and without the chrome strip. I guess it just depends on my mood.

It looks ok, but I don't really see the point of covering up one of the Targa's distinctive features.

I always prefer the black. When you look at the M3 and non-m versions, even the M3 has the shadowline trim instead of the non-m polished aluminum. Looks sportier, and personally, i'm not crazy about the way the roof line profile looks with the accentuated look it gives from chrome finish.

Just my opinion. I did it with my car and haven't turned back since. Not a Porsche but still gives the same look. Do it with vinyl first, something that is easily reversible in case you don't like it.

Looks good. Were you going to go with matte or gloss black?

If you're asking me as the OP, I'm still looking for the right T4S to buy. If I end up buying a black one, I'd strongly consider the same look in the pics I posted. I think if you have black wheels, the chrome blackout makes perfect sense. If you have silver wheels, the chrome trim might look better. Guess it just depends on the overall look you're going for.

What material options are there.
I've been thinking about making my polished stainless into black almost since the car arrived - a higher contrast with the yellow paint looks better I think.

Is there a DIY vinyl one can purchase?

I agree. With black or yellow, black trim looks better. With many other colors, I think not.

I really like the black trim on the targa! I think a dark gray for a slight contrast might look good as well.

Call me crazy but I like the chrome trim on the targa, makes it stand out vs a coupe and enhances the long rear window lines.
