Enjoy in good health my friend and stop worrying about buying parts "just in case" it breaks down. I had mine (2006 C4S) for a year and a half and didn't even change the oil :-)
The first thing i did when i bought the car was fill it up with gas a drove it until the gas almost ran out. I dared it to break down and it didn't.
That was a bit irresponsible and i'm not saying you do the same but i bought it for fun not to worry myself about bits falling off.

Slow day that is my favorite response yet! Lol. Hopefully no parts will fall off soon! When thoughts like "is that ticking I hear" creep in I'm going to remember your post.

Thanks for putting things in proper perspective. Happy driving and God bless. maddog88

Right on target

Your 997.1 is virtually identical to mine, all the way to color and options. Mine has, over tbe course of three years and 40K of daily driving, been maintained with a host of the good service items yours got, including an IMS update and clutch; and annoyances like coil packs and a MAF. It has all been worth it. It runs like a train through good weather and noreasters, and I would only give it up for a much newer one. Drive it with pride.

Thanks for the good word! Have you upgraded the stereo/PCM or are you still stock?

Upgraded stereo and PCM in 997.1?

I may be the only guy in the world who doesn't think my Bose audio system is so bad. I have it tuned to my ears and mostly biased to the front of the cabin, where it cuts through the road noise nicely. So, no-I haven't updated it. The cost to add aftermarket items like satellite radio is ridiculous, so my Sirius just pumps out FM, sits at the base of the shifter with a homemade base and all is OK with me. I wish I could update the PCM/NAV since the maps are so dated, but I've heard such updates could brick my PCM, so I'm living with the old data. Honestly, these are tiny items in the overall scheme of driving my teenage dream car every day. These are definitely not cars for folks who calculate the cost per mile; for me it's smiles per mile and I haven't stopped grinning since I bought it.
