Porsche trying to get me to change my business name or sue me???
So guys, i turned my car buying hobby into sort of a business last february, named it CarreraMotorSports.com, so by March i got a letter from Lawyers representing Porsche telling me i can't use that name or their emblem as part of my logo, i of course took their emblem rite off my logo but didn't close my domain name or dissolve my LLC, Carrera MotorSports LLC ...so just last week i got another letter from them still trying to pressure me...i'm just a little guy, so i can't really battle them in courts..
The name Carrera means RACE in Spanish & if anything i'd think Safilo sunglasses company would be the one trying to claim i'm infringing..plus how would i be breaking the net squatting laws, i'm only using CARRERA not PORSCHE + i'm not trying to sell the name or the domain..
Anyways i figure this is probably a loosing battle, and i'll have to dissolve the LLC & lose the business name & make another one.

Porsche is very notorious with their rights. Would you believe you can't use '911'? Else, Porsche's dogs will be after you.
Sorry about your business. Unfortunately everywhere (be it America, Asia, Europe, 3rd world country, etc.)..."He who has the most money almost always wins!"

Exactly. But as someone else pointed out, PCNA's attorney's are notoriously nasty and petty for what often seems like no good reason. A Rennlist member who's collected Porsche memorabilia over the years had pictures of old owner's manuals etc. on his private website. He was NOT selling anything but still got a rather testy letter from these lawyers asking him to remove all Porsche literature items from his site. But then...what else to expect from a legal team that's insisted for almost 10 years that there was no design flaw with the original IMS bearing. Took a class action lawsuit to get what still only amounted to a half-*** admittance of failure with all kinds of holes and escape routes built in.

Porsche is notorious for being protective over their brand and you can't really blame them as any company would. There can easily be an incorrect association made based on your corporate name. I'm sure your aware that the 911 was originally called the 901 but Peugeot said all of their cars had a zero in the middle of their model numbers so didn't brand confusion with Porsche forcing the change.
Think about Boxer. Porsche comes to mind right?
But it was invented by Karl Benz. Yes that Benz. But then Subaru just trademarked "boxer" name right under Porsches nose just a few years ago. I bet someone at Porsche HQ was really pissed about missing that one.
There's also Carreraslots.com that opened up in the 60's and are still around today. Slot cars sets that feature Porsche's as well as other brands.
Your in for a tough and probably expensive battle. Good Luck.

This will be a black hole into which you throw money. Probably best to consider a name change and move on. Their corporate attorneys have nothing but time and resources to go after you and make life miserable. I agree you are no threat but to maintain their effectiveness they need to go after everyone. Just my opinion.

I'm guessing the OP expected Porsche to do nothing, not welcome him into the family.
