Brake pad sensor

Had a weird issue today, whilst driving had "Service worn brake pad" message come on with a beep on the dash. Thing is, brake pads and discs and sensors were replaced a few months ago. Have done just 1000 kms since.

But after a few hours at home I went back down to the garage and turned the car on and the warning message was gone. Took it for a drive, no issues.

It was raining very hard today and I drove through some deep puddles, could it be just too much water set the sensor off? Anyone else had this issue?

I have hit puddles many times without issues.

As you implied, water shorted the connection temporarily. If I were you, I would take the wheels off and recheck the connections and the pads just for safety reasons.

Did you have them professionally replaced? Maybe something was damaged during install? If it was done by a shop I'd just take it back, otherwise just check everything out if it was a DIY install.

I spoke with them this morning and they said it was most likely caused by too much water in the sensor, now that's had a chance to dry out it's working fine again.

The puddle I went through was deep I had to drive slowly the road was pretty flooded.
