Pics request of 997 c2s lowered on h&r with spacers on lobster forks

Hey guys

I'm trying to figure out what to do with my c2s. Its an 2005 Carrera S silver.

I'm lowering it next week on H&R springs, but I'm on the fence of whether to install 7/15mm spacers on the stock lobster forks or to go aftermarket rims.

Aftermarket rims i'm thinking of doing Avant Garde M590s. Does anyone have these on their car?

I'm just looking for some pics of these setups. I've searched but cant' find much.

Keep searching. I found these pretty easily:

Perk10 was running 10mm/18mm spacers here I believe:

Here is the avant garde 510s (dolphin grey) on white with Bilstein PSS9s. I am a big fan of the dolphin grey on white/silver cars.

That looks good. I might have to do similar; I really like the "lobster claws" and see no reason to get aftermarket wheels at this time.

Here you go - '05 C2S, Arctic Silver, lobsters, lowered on H&R springs (sorry, no spacers).

I just recently had H&R installed on my c2s and as I drove home there was some weird clanking noise that I never heard before I had the springs put on I dropped the car off back to my indi anyone ever experienced this? Everytime I went over a bump sounded like metal clunking In the rear.

My C2 lowered on Tech Art springs with 5mm front and 15mm rear spacers. I considered new rims as well (Forgestar CF10s and/or Carrera Sports) but once I saw the car lowered, the Lobby's seemed to come alive to me. Sticking with them now. I'd suggest you wait and decide on rims after you lower. For sure you will need spacers however - you can always sell them later if your new rims don't require them. Cosmetically, lowering transforms the car IMO. I look at old pictures of mine now and cannot believe how high it sat...

Thanks guys for the pics

Cars all look amazing. I ended up lowering mine with H&R springs and 7/15mm H&R spacers. Looks worlds better. Rides quite a bit stiffer though on rough roads

On the fence about doing rims now. lol

Great pics! How many miles do you guys have on your suspension when performing the spring swap? How do the stock struts hold up against the new height/spring rate? Any adverse effects to PASM? I'd like to lower my C2S (50K), but am concerned I will quickly be replacing the struts thereafter.

There is something about lowering and Lobsters! Very cool you are thinking about keeping them

Interesting comments about your ride getting worse. There are a number of differences in our situation - mine is a 997.2, Tech Art vs H&R (your car will be 1/2 inch lower than mine), and I also changed my tires at same time as springs..... But my ride improved slightly. More compliant (probably the tires) and controlled over bumps (probably the springs).

Anyways glad you did spacers.... Would like to see a picture.

I had 35,000 miles. Not worried about the shocks as I think they should be good for 100k or more under normal street use (Porsche uses great parts which can withstand track use). I don't anticipate any adverse effects though admittedly I haven't had them on for long. Shark Werks has an excellent write-up on these and did the mod several years ago with no reported issues with their shocks. Interested in what other long-termers have experienced.

I love my gloss black M590s on the TT, lowered with GMG springs, running 5mm spacer on rear.

You might have to do a little bit of digging to find exactly what you want, but I get lost on this site for hours looking at stuff to do for my Porsche. I personally love the Forgeline stuff for 997s, but there's a ton of stuff here.

Good luck!

Does lowering with springs affect PASM?
