The 997.2 PCM had a Source button that displays available sources to select from.

997.1 was the model built from 2005 through 2008. In 2009 a generational (not model) change was made designated by 997.2. The PCM (Porsche Communication Module ... or Management) was updated as well. I don't know if you have a Source button or not, but that's how mine selects the Aux input.

BTW ... Welcome aboard. Post some pictures and give some details when you have a chance. You've got a great ride. Read the Owner's Manual to acquaint yourself. Use this Forum as well. Most importantly ... Drive drive drive.

I'm not an expert here either. The Audio button would be my first guess. FWIW, my PCM only offers Aux of the Aux input is attached.

The Owner's Manual is pretty good and I'm sure someone here with a 997.1 has the answer as well. Sorry I wasn't much help.

Here's a link to a PCM 2 User Manual. It is not exactly what you have, but the Audio functions will be similar.

http://coochas.com/porsche/Resources/PCM2.pdf

You can also buy the PCM 2.1 manual from Suncoast Porsche:

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/WKD95032405.html

Bu the manual will only get you so far., as your car did not come with an AUX input. It was either added by Becker (who makes the PCM), or someone has installed a 3rd party interface, like the Dension Gateway 500.

It may be configured to look like a CD Changer to the PCM, so see if selecting CD Changer allows you to access the AUX input.

It's not clear what type of connector you have in the glovebox. Is it a 32 pin iPhone/iPod connector or something else? If it is the 32 pin connector, then kcheves probably nailed it. Plug in an iPhone or iPod (you can use a Lightning to 32 pin adapter if necessary) and then you will most likely find your music under the PCM's CD Changer setting. The Dension spoofs the system into thinking an iPhone/iPod is a set of CDs in the changer.

YOU HAVE A SWITCH EITHER UNDER THE DASH OR IN THE GLOVE BOX- Its probably a Built in FM transmitter direct connection- It will switch your RADIO off & it will be an AUX when you hit the switch. Look for it under dash, footwell, or sometimes glove box- Thats how most of those are installed

I had the same problem on my 997.2: I could switch SOURCE between AM/FM/DISC/iPod/USB, but AUX wouldn't show up. Turned out, you can go to DISC > OPTIONS > "SET DISC / AUX" and enable the AUX. Then AUX will start showing up under SOURCE.

I know, it's been 5 years since the questions, but maybe somebody like me will find this information useful

I'm a new owner of a 997.2 2011 Carrera S Cab and I'm very much enjoying it already. I'm also curious about the Aux input issue. I'm sure I can figure out the source issue on the PCM, but the standard aux cable that I have (and that works in my other "older" vehicles with aux inputs) does not seem to fit into my 997.2 aux input. Does this make sense? Is there a slightly different size aux cable I need for the 997.2?

Thanks-Kurt
