PPI from a Porsche dealer on a CPO Car
#2
Just my two cents, I don't think you'd go wrong either way. My car hasn't had any issues to date with the CPO ending next month (09' 997.2 car).
I am however on the fence whether or not to purchase an extended warranty for it.

Btw...since you're in CA, the dealer is Beverly Hills Porsche.

Please read the horror story attached below about a CPO car bought from one of the largest volume Porsche dealerships in the world. You won't have to read all of it to recognize that spending whatever it takes to get a neutral opinion from someone other than the selling dealer is the smart thing to do.

Yes, some guy over at planet-9 brought a CPO Cayman and found out it was in a minor accident and the front bumper was resprayed, months after ownership. The accident didn't show up on carfax when he brought it, it does after. It'll be extremely tough to sell a Porsche with an accident history on carfax. Used Porsche car buys are extremely picky, they want CPO, low mileage, and no history. PPI is a must but not at the dealer you brought it from for obvious reasons.

I would be more inclined to get an outside PPI if I was buying the car sight unseen. But it doesn't hurt to have it looked at. The cost do so so is minimal in the overall scheme of things.
