2nd Gen PCCB update...
Christophorus Magazine, article: STRENGTH OF CONVICTION
The forward drive in the Porsche Michelin Supercup depends on the right delaying tactics. The Porsche PCCB ceramic brake system is for the first time being used in the fastest brand cup in the world. The result: more braking power, longer durability, a new driving style. A real gain.
Christian Menzel quotes "I'm singing the praises of the ceramic brake. Although it's more challenging to drive than steel-disc brakes together with the anti-lock braking system- which has been dropped- its capacity is enormous. Even at the end of the race, I could brake at the same points as at the beginning. No trace of fading." His colleague Uwe Alzen confirms that: "There aren't any braking problems, even on long distances."

I`d have to agree!!! after 2 cars with PCCBs there is nothing else that will match its durability... little will match its stoping distances... Kudos to Porsche and whoever invented the Ceramic brake disc...

I have a feeling the ABS had a tendency to "hammer" on the PCCB rotors which has one of the main reason why there were rotor failures with the first generation PCCB.
I think the problem has not been solved 100%. If you track or brake hard underprolonged heated condition and have ABS with your street 997/996 you could still have rotor failures.

I believe the first article that was done on the 2nd Gen PCCB's showed testing of the rotors that were red hot like fire to show that the increase in fibers from 3000 (1st gen) to 400,000 (2nd gen) could withstand the heat associated with track racing.
