Water Pump

Water Pump
I have an 06 C2S with 40678 miles and a 5 year 60,000 miles Fidelity Platinum warranty. My water pump is going. I've read lots of threads of people changing them out around 40,000 miles. My question is, were any of you able to get a replacement through your warranty or through Porsche? I gather this will be out of pocket expenses. I would appreciate any thoughts! Thank you and Happy 4th of July!!!

Cancel my question! I like a dummy read under the engine coverage section not the cooling section at first and low & behold water pump, thermostat both covered. I finally for the first time get to use my warranty!

My (2010 997.2) water pump started to die around 34k with the tell tale "whistling" sound at idle that goes away immediately when the gas is tapped.
It was covered under CPO warranty, thankfully!
This is the only "major" fault I've had with the car, too.

I just had mine replaced last week, three weeks before the CPO expires, with 58,000 miles on my '08 C2S cab. Other than an obvious leak, you may hear a whirring sound coming from the vicinity of the pump at idle. It helps if you have a mechanic with acute hearing.

Internet diagnosis told me this was water pump, stealership confirmed and replaced under CPO.

Mine came with no whistle & hadn't started leaking yet. It was just a little knock going on that you could only hear at idle.Bearing was shot on front pulley!
