So I was trying to track down a sunroof rattle. I had seen the 996 fellas placing felt pads at various locations to quiet things down. So I tilted my sunroof and started feeling around. I felt a piece of weatherstripping just floating around. It wasn't attached to anything. Luck it didn't fly out or flop back past the sunroof frame and into the headliner (if you don't find yours, it could be there). So if this helps anybody, great! I put the weatherstripping back on the springy part. It is loose and I will have to put a dab of silicone there probaby to keep it there.
