Wheel Fitment Help

Guys, here is a prime example of what I'm looking for, and if I buy them 997 Carrera Classics will be for sale...
http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...tires-included

Just curious on whether or not they will fit with the brakes? I'll run more meat but I want to make sure they fit over the brakes. I know that they'll fit inside the fenders..

Any input would be largely appreciated.

I m not sure what you are trying to do but these don't look like a set up for a 997. That one pic even looks like the wrong size tire on the rim.... Can t say without more info...

The 10" rear wheels are a whole inch less than the 11" width wheels used on the rear of the 997 models. You should not mount a 295 tire on those, the tires will look pinched in and wouldn't perform properly. Whoever had these before was doing some strange things with fitment as Cerbomark points out... a 225 tire on a 10" wheel is extremely unsafe and goes in the whole opposite direction. Those tires would be useless to you.

The should fit! Porsche 997 basic models came with 18" wheels initially 8.5" wide on the front and 10" on the rear. The one thing you should know is that the also didn't come with 295 wide tires on the rear, they came with 265 40 18 and the fronts were 225 40 18. The offset in these wheels is about 15mm less than OEM. I had 18" Carrera III with OEM offsets I used with winter tires and they looked to me they could use spacers for a better look. I think these wheels will fit as long as you know that the tire sizes will be reduced from what you currently have. have you looked into Champion wheels RG5B? They look very similar to your example with a 2" deep lip on the rears. I have a set I am getting painted flat silver as I don't like the polish look that I have been thinking about selling. Ping me if interested.
