I have no affiliation with Fidelity and I don't think I ever bought a policy from them. I also didn't sort through all the complaints, but going by the first couple of pages it seems like most if not all of the complaints come from those who bought less than exclusionary coverage. Anyone who does a minimum of research into extended warranties would soon come to the conclusion that you either buy exclusionary coverage or you don't buy at all.

Platinum buyers seem reasonably happy with their coverage so maybe those who buy the premium plan are essentially getting covered at the expense of those who pay a lot of money for the cheaper "stated component plans" with all the loop holes and denied claims.

+1

Complaints seem to be coming form customers that purchased a lower coverage probably w/o even reading the limitations and expect the Warranty to pay for something wasn't in the contract they paid for.

Now i'm not saying that Warranty companies are absolute angels, they do not want to pay out a cent. The only power you have is that contract. If you purchased the contract that covers the item broken, they have no choice. But if you purchased a power-train coverage they will not cover your suspension no matter how much you complain.

So, I'm looking at a steering rack replacement - about $2200 - and service says it is covered - I pay $250 deductible.

I bought a 5 year / 60K Easycare Warranty in 2013 for $3700 through the dealer. About half way in, I feel pretty good about that right now.

Wow, I haven't heard of the steering rack going bad in this car. How many miles?

23K - if you search, it happens - service tech said low miles, lack of driving - not sure I buy that - I don't let it sit for weeks, just short trips mostly. Either way, glad I have the warranty - although when I bought it, I had more serious issues in mind.

My 30+ years of these sorts of cars says, don't have an expensive German car out of warranty. YMMV.

i paid half upfront and the rest over 12 months auto charge to credit card.

Looking at how much people paid for theirs i think i got screwed big time. i paid 3700 for 2 years.
But considering how much they paid out already in just one year i wont complain too much.
