CarID bad experience
A few weeks ago I ordered new winter tires and wheels (fully assembled, mounted, balanced and delivered) from CarID...and called to make sure that they understood what I wanted, including black wheels, black lug bolts, and black TPMS valve stems.
Well, once the order was delivered, it was missing parts and they mounted the wrong color TPMS stems. When I called my sales person, he said that it would be better to go through "customer service". When I was transferred to them, they put me on hold for nearly 1 hour, but admitted that they were in error, and offered to ship out the missing/correct parts...but then said that I would have to pay for dismounting/ assembly/ re-balancing, etc and then submit a paid invoice so they could make a decision if they would reimburse me or not (and when I spoke to a supervisor, he was not only was very rude and refused to do anything different...he then hung up on me)!
Fortunately when I placed the order, I paid with CapitalOne, who has an outstanding customer support department to help with these type of situations and will be withholding payment (which is just over $3000) until they deliver what I ordered (at no additional cost of course).
I know that not all experiences from CarID are this bad, but I would really think twice if you are considering buying wheels and tires from CarID!

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback!
This forum sure has a lot of great advice and opportunities to learn more about what other vendors are offering!
On Monday, after CapitalOne stepped in to help, the company is now refocused on delivering what was originally ordered and is covering the cost to fix their mistake.
Perhaps this was just an isolated incident (who knows, there is a rep from CarID -- a 6Speed premium sponsor -- on this forum, who just might want to comment.
But for now, it's time to move on. So I'll be packaging them back up so they can be returned, fixed, and sent back.

I am glad your issue was addressed by the retailer finally. I hate retailers who provide that level of customer service - your initial contact when the order was not correct. Keeping a customer on hold for an hour, having a manager hang up on the customer, etc., all bad. I would absolutely make sure you are 100% whole as it relates to what you bought and I would expect a discount for the amount of time you had to spend resolving their mistake and horrible customer service. I always use my CC for purchases as it is often times the only protection and tool we have to compel cooperation.

They forget customer service and support are gold standard in retails and if they don't have enough customer etiquette, I said screw them. I was looking at some auto body parts on their website but I am not anymore after seeing this. Thanks for the head up

So it took some time, but after several discussions with CarID, they agreed to fix the order and the new tires/wheels were redelivered on Thurs. However, it appears that the "new" tires (Perrelli Winter SottoZero's) were actually manufactured nearly 6 years ago!!!!
Well, after reading some of the previous posts and calling around to a few tire shops, it seems that "new" tires typically are sold within 1-year of the manufacturing date and in the Porsche owners manual it states that "under no circumstances should tires older than 6 years be used on your Porsche [either new or used]."
Curious if others have experienced this before? But it looks like I'll be back on the phone with CarID on Monday to get it sorted out!
