Help Finding Heavy Duty Decklid Trunk Hatch Shock
For all of those who have the GT4 or Teachart Wing, or any other wing of sizable girth, could you please let me know what heavy duty Decklid Trunk hatch shock you are using. It is clear that one is needed in order to support the much heavier wing. But I do not know where to obtain one, indeed what to order.
Can one of you guys tell me the exact hatch shock you purchased and were did you get it from. I am at a lost here
Thanks so much

If you don't find an answer that way there is an alternate solution but you may not want to do it.
Turbo models use two shocks on the deck lid, non-turbos have just one on the passenger side. Non-turbos have the mounting point for the driver-side "shock" already on the body (cheaper to produce them all that way I guess), but their hinge is missing the second mounting point. If you buy the driver-side hinge for a Turbo and switch to that, it will have the second mounting point and you can add a second lift cylinder and that should take care of the problem.
However, the hinges on our cars are painted and the hinge you would buy is not, it is bare metal. I had one of the Turbo hinges in my hands when I switched my deck lid to a Turbo one but decided not to use it and returned it to save a few dollars. It appeared that it may be rust resistant so painting may not be necessary, but it would look different than your other hinge if you don't paint it... if you care.
