My 06 c2s is ready for new tires and brake pads. I'm hoping to do 5 or more track days next year and will drive the car as often as possible in nice weather. I'm hoping some of you have experience and suggestions for tires and pads that will perform well on the track and be appropriate for frequent use on the street.

I realize that no tire or brake pad will be perfect for both, are there standard hybrids that you guys use?

I'm running the Yokohama AD08R's and am pretty happy. They are pretty capable on the track and decent on the street. A little noisy but that's the trade off. They have a harder sidewall so you can bleed them down lower to handle the pressure increase from the track's heat during laps. I've got about 5 DE's on them and they are very smooth and predictable. The next step would be Nittos but they require 18 inch rims and aren't as street friendly. I've driven the AD08R's in the rain w/o issues.

As far as brake pads, I'm running Pagid RS19's. They're pretty well matched for the tire's grip and handle the punishment of a weekend on the track. They squeal a bit on the street and I used to swap back and forth but last time I left them in and the more I drive on them the less they screech so I may just leave them in all the time. They will wreak havoc on stock drilled rotors though and I got cracks between the holes from the heat. I ended up swapping to slotted in the front.

I'm running PFC 08's and am very happy with them. My Hankook r-s3 are good on the track but too noisy for street use.

Same exact set up, pads and tires. Noisy tires and brakes squeal like a freight train...
