700 miles in the Club Coupe
I Drove to Key West and back this weekend. I now have 1005 miles in 1 week! The trip is 3 hours interstate and 3 hours 2 lane State highway, US 1. It's like having 2 cars. On the "normal" setting the car is a great interstate ride. It is very quick and stable without beating you to death on the expansion strips. Had a 12 hour MP3 of Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Cream, and Doors and was in Heaven. Push the magic button labeled "Sport" and ohmy, the car stiffens, growls, responds to the slightest touch of the wheel or pedals, and you are in a different car! In the turns it feels as glued down as my GT2. On the way home I touched 122 briefly, on one open piece of I 75. Speed climbs very fast. There is no body roll or movement.
For you non X51 guys, 4000 rpm in 5th is 84 mph. How does that compare with the normal S?
The car averaged 20.3 mpg. The Nav is easy to use and dead on. The Bose sounds ok, too much bass even at -4. Very little wind noise, but the empty Passenger seat rattles.
Bad news is I got boxed in heavy traffic leaving a parking lot and scrapped the front lip on the aerokit car. I got a new one ordered and will have the old one repainted for a spare. Funny, I have no spare tire but a spare front lip
This surprised me as my last 3 aerokit cars, counting the GT2 were all much lower. I was going to lower this one but now I don't think so. The front lip extends out further then on the others making the approach angle much more critical. I am having the sport exhaust permanently ON. I don't know why it has that mid speed cutout, but it is annoying.
One nice thing is you can have the sport mode on and turn the sport suspension off for a softer ride with the e gas sport mapping and sport exhaust on.

I'm at 350. I am having tint put on the windows today. Clear film added tomorrow. I have a call into a dealer for front grills (I am thinking silver/aluminum instead of black).
Q. I assume all Club Coupes do not have the rock guard covering the front radiator?

Sounds great Larry. I can't wait to see it. Sorry to hear about the spoiler. I'm still very curious to see how it feels compared to my S. Email me when you get a chance at srmturbo@earthlink.net.
