Question 997.2 PDK 6 year clutch fluid change

My 997.2 C4S is scheduled for it's six year service. Included in that service is the first service of the PDK clutch fluid and filter. The car only has 10K miles on it with limited track time. Also Porsche does not require PDK clutch fluid change on the 991 PDK until the 12 year service which also includes the transmission fluid change in both the 997.2 and 991.

Since my PDK currently is working well I am hesitant to have my Porsche dealer service it. The process sounds somewhat complicated and damage can occur if not done properly. On the other hand I have an extended warranty which I purchased mainly to cover either PDK or engine replacement due to either events high cost.

Do you have any thoughts on whether you would have the PDK clutch fluid changed at this point? Undecided!

Interesting read above...
I would only do the min.(one) fluid change called for to keep the warranty alive! That s is an expensive trans.

Smile Thank you for the reference source.

I agree that it is a very expensive transmission to replace. My real concern is whether the Porsche dealer technician will do the job properly. I plan to ask how many PDK clutch fluid changes have been done at the dealership. I do not want to be number 1 or 2.

Thanks,
Mike

I try and find a good tech and stay with him but they always move around.
Yea I d try and get some confidence in the tech/dealer and then proceed like you are doing.

I am happy to report the PDK service was completed without issues. In fact, as several members have commented in the past, my PDK when either backing up or starting forward from a stop is much smoother. I suspect that is secondary to refreshing the chip.
Thanks,
Mike
