Help with GT2 wing on C2
Ive searched like crazy and cant find what I need so turning to yall for help.
My first big question is I just installed an aftermarket GT2 wing and don't have the harness to install my OEM cooling fan that sits directly underneath the oem wing grill. So can I drive the car without that fan hooked up until I get the harness installed?
I have an 08 C2 and adding an aftermarket GT2 wing/trunk combo. Ive read online somewhere that I need a wiring harness to do the install correctly and cancel out the raising wing. I did the install last night and was disassembling the factory raising wing to swap the oem fan and harness over to the GT2 wing but it appears the oem harness is tied directly into the motor assembly that raises the oem wing so Im assuming that's what the new needed harness is for to hook up the cooling fan and trunk light and third brake light(my GT2 wing doesn't have spot for third brake light so I wont use the plug).
Last question Does anyone know the best place to get the correct harness?
Thanks for any help

That fan only tends to engage when the engine compartment is pretty hot so at this time of the year I think you'll be fine. It only really comes into play at low speeds or when stopped in hot conditions or just after aggressive driving.
I poked around a little online to see if I could confidently answer the wiring harness part# question for you but don't have a solid answer. What I'd recommend in this case is it might be worth the few extra bucks at your local dealer to have them find the right harness number for you. I have a Turbo wing and when getting the additional parts it came in handy getting anything in wasn't certain about at the dealer. For these things, the dealer can be a plus in three ways: They have access to the best diagrams, if they get it wrong its easy to do returns, and they can typically get most parts overnight. Well worth the 20% or so extra you tend to pay there.
My guess is that you'll need the same harness as the Aerokit cars with a fixed wing, assuming the fan hookup is in the same position. By the way, the harness plug at the car side is a little tough to remove. You can see a couple of hints in my install thread here (even though my harness was different the problem is the same): http://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum...arrera.html#17
Hopefully others will give you a more definite answer. I'm guessing for this type of question you may get more responses on the Rennlist forums (where my post link above takes you).

I use the original harnes from my car, attached my fan on the new lid (even tho the holes weren't 100% I managed to fix it.) and the light connection I just covered with black tape and put it all together. After that went to a friend who owns a small porsche specialist workshop, he connected his pc and removed the "broken third breaklight" - warning.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was wondering if i could just order a factory aero harness to eliminate the power wing. Im gonna price one and see how crazy high that will cost.

It imagine it will be in the $100-$120 or so ball park. The normal Carrera and Turbo ones cost around that much.
