Did you notice where temps were? Motor will surely run hotter on track than on street. Perhaps that is the variable.

Not sure if this will help, but this was recommended to me when I had some warning light issues after installing the 82mm Competition IPD Plenum and GT3 Throttle body..

Try this…

Performing a “hard” reset will clear the ECU of all previous “memories” (i.e. O2 memories, MAF intake, boost curves, fuel maps, etc.) and allow the ECU a fresh clean start to re-learn and make all the necessary adaptative changes in relation to the feedback from the engine monitoring system.

In order to complete the ECU “clearing” process you must start by…

1. First disconnect the negative terminal on your battery.

2. Then you will need to clear the ECU by making a wire connection that connects the negative wire (NOT the negative post on the battery) to the positive post on the battery.

3. We recommend using 2 alligator clips joined by about 18” of wire.

4. This connection needs to be in place for about 5 minutes to complete a full re-set.

5. Remove alligators clips and reconnect the negative battery wire to the battery.

Customers are also occasionally required to reset their throttle bodies after installing the Plenums, especially with the “Competition” Plenums that upgrade to the next larger throttle body size.

To perform this simple reset / recalibrate procedure of your TB follow the following 3 steps.

1. Turn key to the “ON” position (one click before engine starts) for 60 seconds.

2. After 60 seconds with the key still in the “ON” position depress throttle Pedal all the way down to floor once and release.

3. Turn key off and pull key out of ignition.

If this does not resolve the issue then you may need to perform a “Hard Reset” of the ECU/DME.

This should eliminate any idle or stalling issues as well as enable to the car to make peak power.

Hello. I am curious. Whose instructions/directions are these? Do they pertain to the stock ECU or to a specific after market tune?

Not sure what tune OP is using. I have all of these mods and am using a Revo tune at level 2. Never have I had running issues or engine lights.

This is an expensive remap. I would not want to 'erase and reset it' if I had a problem. Thinking you would be returning to the stock ecu settings, no?

One thing to check - there's a vacuum flap on the plenum that opens >5500RPM. If it doesn't open, there's supposedly a huge power loss, something on the order of 50HP IIRC (anyone feel free to chime in). It's vacuum/solenoid actuated. In the process of installing/replacing the plenum, is it possible that the actuator and/or the vacuum/solenoid connections were disrupted? Just a thought.

If it's not the plenum valve, then one way to get more information on what's going on is to get an OBD recorder and record a tracing of things like engine load, LTFT, STFT, timing, RPM, etc.

These directions were from Greg one of the owners of ipd plenum. That is a good question as far as your ECU program . May be a good question for you to ask the place you purchased it from. You don't have to do the hard reset but may just try doing the throttle body calibration process which is on the second half of that previous posting. As far as resets goes it would be wise to find out if the program that you installed is something that is stored in memory and can be lost if battery dies, or if it is written into the program and saved as part of the programming????

Checking the vacuum lines is a good recommendation to. I have had it happen to me where are vacuum line come loose and the intake manifold flap does not open which definitely effects horsepower, but not sure why the throttle body is reading only partially open???
