Porsche C2 For Daily Driving?

Currently I have my Porsche C2 as a weekend car and driving my high mpg BMW during the week.

I drive a lot daily, to place of study and back, work, restaurents, friends, family etc basically a lot of short trips and a lot of driving.

Would be interested if anyone uses their Porsche as their only car why a similar level of driving as stated above.

I bought mine last September. I plan to daily drive this for 8-9 months of the year and use my SUV for the winter and occasional rainy days. So far it's been great.

I have a 2008 S Cab that is my daily driver. During the week I only drive back and forth to work however on the weekends it is a different story. I run errands in the little car including grocery runs, hardware store, pool store, etc., and depending on the item I cover where needed. I understand the limitations of the capacity, but with the cab I can haul larger items than one would expect, and between the frunk, back seat and passenger side the car can hold quite a bit of stuff.

I realize that this may sound blasphemous to some porshcephiles out there but I believe the cars were meant to be driven and I do just that.

I bought my C2S in May and drove it for 10,000 miles from May to December last year. I plan on doing the same this year. My Audi gets winter and occasional summer duty. You learn to be a very cautious driver...

I used my C2S as my only car for about 5 years until I began to build a stable, and it was excellent all around.

My 996 C4S was my daily driver in all conditions. My 997 turbo cabriolet was my daily driver for about a year, but it's now a third car and only used in nice weather.

I believe that the 997 is a great daily driver if it has enough space for your needs.

I used my '06 C2 as a daily driver (unless it snowed heavy) for 5 + years racking up 120,000+ miles along the way. Only recently (Feb 2016) did it become a "Nice weather" car as I added a 16 Ford Escape Titanium to drive in the winter and to haul groceries.

I still drive the C2 to work when the weather permits. Have to say it is like failing in love all over again if I have been out of it for a few days.

I just got mine, and it's my daily. My commute to work is relatively short though, and may even become telecommuting pretty soon.

Not using mine as a daily. But in my area I see plenty of daily at the local stations. So technically not just dailies but stations cars

These are great little machines. You will be fine if you make it your primary vehicle. I am assuming you do not get a lot of snow in your area, because that it is a different story.

I don't understand why this question comes up all the time. Why would the 911 be just perfect for a DD if one does not have multiple kids to hall around every day (with sporting gear etc.)? It drives great, it looks great, it is reliable and practical. Of course it is perfect for DD. I drive mine, rain or shine (or snow).

I've got a 2010 C4S Cab that is my DD year round in Chicago. In winter, I pop a set of snow tires on and drive it every day that I can! My daily round-trip commute is a total of ~50 miles, almost entirely highway driving, so I can get to let it loose pretty much every day and this car loves every mile I can put on it!

My wife has a Q7 for the heavy stuff, but I take my C4S anywhere and everywhere!

997.2 and 911.1 were both dailys for me. Absolute troopers. At times I had wished the back seats were bigger so I could carry more than 2 comfortably but other than that it was amazing. Was actually considering getting an 08 and yes the car would have been a DD too.

Interesting points.

The experiences with my friends seem the most interesting. They have complained about broken backs and other pains (not in a literal sense that is).

Shopping is a small problem and storage. I leave a lot of my belongings in my car e.g. In my BMW right now I have suits, jackets, hats, papers, sprays cologne, creams, 2016 a4 diary and I'm sure theres way more definitely feels like it.

I wouldnt be able to fit all of that into my Porsche for sure.

My 911 is a weekend drive in good weather. My daily driver is an Audi A6 but I would be perfectly happy with a VW Golf or GTI.

How are you gonna enjoy twisty roads when all that stuff is flying around in the car? I always keep my 911 free of objects. Even my DD is pretty clean too, because you never know when the traffic will clear up and present you with a high speed curve.
