997.2 Headers and 200 cell Cats Question?
Looking to upgrade my headers and 200 cell Cats for my 997.2 C2. Doing research online and found a sharkwerks page saying all 200 cell cats will fail and the check engine light will come on eventually. I know that fabspeed sells them and they claim that they wont set of CEL light. Anyone with headers and 200 cell cats please chime in. Would really like to do this upgrade with out having to get a tune also.

is the CEL issue specific to 992.2 car with 200 cells cats? I would contact FVD Brombacher for more info.
The BES 997 292 00S combo looks awesome, advertise power gain:
Power:
- 997.2 (3,6l) = + 20 crank Hp (15 kw) & + 15 crank torque (20 Nm)
- 997.2S (3,8l) = + 23 crank Hp (18kw) & 22 crank torque (30Nm)
- With FVD Flashclient Software = + 37 crank Hp (28kw) & + 30 crank torque (40 Nm

In terms of the impact on my car, I am absolutely intoxicated by the performance gains and significantly enhanced exhaust note coupled with my PSE, so I HIGHLY recommend this awesome upgrade

Ya that is my concern, thats why I asked on the forum. Also thinking a custom tune might fix that issue too?

I would do it again w/o hesitation and will replace with same should it ever be necessary. The gains from lowering the torque curve transform the car. Watch what you get. Mine are HKS German made. Reportedly there is poor quality stuff out there
Fwiw note the complaints I read spoke to cats made in England

Having upgraded to new FabSpeed Sport Headers and 200-Cell HJS Cats earlier this year (no O2 spacers), I have not thrown any CEL lights since the install. Additionally, I passed the Illinois Emmissions Test today so I'm good 'till 2018
I LOVE the exhaust note and performance gains from this set up, and the fact that it passes the Emmissions is the proverbial icing on the cake

I installed Fabspeed's Sport Headers with 200 Cell Cats and an X-pipe 4 months ago on 2011 C4S and have had no CEL light or any other problems. It does make the car louder and with the X pipe for me maybe too loud. I may go back to just the headers and no x pipe.

I'd love to hear your set up to see the difference that the X pipe makes - any chance you can post a video of your exhaust note? I've posted a vid of mine with PSE off and on, but I'm curious how much different it is with addition of the X pipe....

Hi North Shore,
If you go back to your original thread about installing your Cats I did post a link to my full set up (Rennlist 997 forum) with the Cats and X-pipe there. I liked the "tone down" sound of your set up vs. the "scream" of mine. I think the center muffler takes the edge off at high RPMs, especially with the PSE on.
