Track Day Mods

I've been having a blast this season racking up track days (and nights...thank you scca!). Wondering if there are any preventative or performance mods that you guys consider a good idea. I am starting to consider a seat, harness, rollbar combo for next season; Keeping budget in mind, are there any standard setups that I should consider?

KW V3
good tires
200cell cats or catless
short shifter
LWFW
those are best for the price for 997. it will totally transoform your car.

then you can consider
roll bar
seats

TPC's DSC suspension controller, which works with factory PASM, Bilstein Damptronics, or their own Tractive DDA shocks (I'm running it with Damptronics). Absolute best handling bang for the buck. Lots of info if you do a Google Search. Also semi solid motor mounts - RSS, Rennline, Wevo, etc (I have the RSS). 3rd Radiator, LN Engineering's spin on oil filter adapter, magnetic drain plug, and lower temp thermostat. Motul xcess 8100 if under warranty and if not Joe Gibbs Racing DT40.

Have fun.

Do now:
Fresh fluids (oil, trans, diff, coolant, brake and clutch)
Summer tires (mss, star spec, ad08r, rs3...)
Track pads (hawk, pfc)
Alignment

Do later:
Bucket seat
Harness
Center radiator
Tire pressure gauge
Torque wrench

For me, engine care was first. I added third radiator and deep sump oil pan with baffles to keep things cool and well oiled.

Then, GT3 lower control arms to be able to dial in the right amount of camber and get the most out of the stock dampers and springs.

Roll bar, seats and MCS suspension are on the agenda this summer.

The previous owner added the fabspeed performance package so exhaust, intake and tune are already taken care of.

I would think safety first. Seats, 6-point belts and a roll bar.

Third Radiator Kit and Deep sump or Accusump.
Keep the engine cool and lubricated.

Honestly, the biggest improvement is a real bucket seat. Taking g-forces and you no longer have to fight to stay in your seat, priceless.

Keeping the car up to snuff is the first step in my opinion. I'm referring to fresh fluids, track tires, and good brakes all essential for not only the car but for having a great day at the track!

If you're looking to increase your driving experience and overall performance of your car our 200 Cell Sport Cat X-pipe would do the trick. Replacing both stock 600-800 cell cats with our high flow HJS 200 cells is a night a day difference. Our X-Pipe makes +18 hp and +22 ft/lbs while saving 4 lbs from the rear of the vehicle which would transform your 997 and make it feel like a new car! We have a few other great options for the 997 such as intakes and side muffler replacements take a look at the product page link below.

I have no problem assisting you with any of these things and I love taking care of my fellow forum members so please do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have.
