Sorry for the misleading photo. Yes, jhbrennan is correct, the longer titanium bolt in my photo above is the one intended for use with 5mm to 9mm spacers. It is pictured with the uglier/shorter OEM bolt that is only used without spacers. You can also get the titanium bolts in standard or even longer lengths.

It isn't as simple as removing the lug nuts...the sets are Titanium lug BOLTS and nuts, so even if I did have a lug wrench I wouldn't be able to deal with the bolts. I'm more comfortable having it done professionally.

Ah..well, so you're installing spacers then. Gotcha. Sounded like you were just swapping bolts on first read thru.

Old spec was 96 ft.lbs . A few years ago, Porsche changed it to 118 ft.lbs. and made the change retroactive to all the newer cars that use lug bolts, so 996 and newer. Your manual may not show the new number, depending on how old your car is.

Go out and buy a torque wrench. It won't cost you much more and you'll feel better after swapping them yourself.

So where are the nuts that go onto these lug bolts? I'm still puzzled about that...seems to be there are just lug bolts and no nuts. That being the case, should be easy enough to swap them out simply going one by one...

Some of the larger spacers attach to the hub using the bolts and then the wheel attaches to the spacer using nuts - see the examples here:

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/HubCentric.html

So you could have a combination of bolts and nuts used to attach a wheel to a large spacer.

Replacing lug bolts one-by-one obviously would work if you were only dealing with replacing lug bolts. I think OP was concerned/confused with spacers and how they were attached to the hub.

Thanks JH...that's what I figured must be, just didn't "mesh" with the photo the OP was showing of bolts only. All clear now!!

Damn...now I'm tempted to get a set of those beautiful TI bolts as well...another modification!

If your car is parked outside, near the ocean with salt in the air, or if you current lug bolts are old and developing the rust etc- titanium bolts are the way to go.

Best to do if you're getting tires replaced soon, but if not tire shops shouldn't charge much as all one needs is a torque wrench and torque the bolts to your porsche's specs.

Cheers
