997.1 Cabrio — Squeaky Roof
Hello.
First 911 (2006 997S Cabrio) for me. Had a 986S and 9PAS earlier.
My 911 has a bunch of problems, of course. Some I can weather, but the squeaky roof problem is pretty bad. My car sounds more like an old pirate ship than a luxury sports car.
To my ear, the source of the problem is toward the rear of the roof, in the centre. After poking around with my finger, I managed to find exactly the point where the problem occurs.
I have taken a video showing where the noise comes from:
The first squeaking noise heard in the video is a dog, not my car.
This squeaking noise is quite loud, even with the engine and stereo on. It makes this squeaking noise when the car flexes in any direction, which on bumpy old Polish roads happens all the time.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or is it time for me to just pull the roof apart?
