Methanol is a great way to clean the inside of headlights without dismantling. It got the headlights clearer but now there seems to be water spots inside the headlights. Any ideas how to get rid of these. Is dismantling the headlights my only course of action? Can someone who has dismantled their lots share the experience?

sneth is infamous around these parts
you could try a hairdryer and hope the vaporized moisture finds a way out. I've used this on some poorly sealed watches.

Water spots are dry already and are now seen as markings inside the headlights

ah. you used methanol to swirl around the inside.

You will need to treat again if there are water spots. I'm not sure I really recommend methanol in the first place, but you might as well finish what you started.
