PASM Failure

PASM Failure
I wasn't able to find anything searching the forum and was hoping someone would have an answer. This is a 2005 Cab S with stock suspension. Owned since 2006 and only 37k miles.
Garaged the car for a few months during winter. Pulled it out and got to the top of the driveway and the PASM Failure message appeared. The fault stays on and the suspension tightens up when driving. Once parked the fault goes away until the car is started and rolls a few inches.
So far I've checked fuses, pulled both wheels and check wiring, and attempted to run the code in the Duremetric but nothing is showing up.
Any ideas?

I unexpectedly got PASM errors after changing my front brakes: I accidentally unplugged what I thought was the brake wear sensor, but it was another sensor (wheel speed?) that I didn't plug back in properly. Durametric (cheap version to reset airbag and service reminders) told me what was wrong when that error appeared. Good luck!

When you stored the car, did you have it on a battery maintainer? If not, the PASM failure message is one of the first to appear when you're battery is about done. It also appears anytime you disconnect the battery, and then will reset itself after you drive a couple miles. If it's going away and reappearing each time you drive the car, it's probably time for a new battery, but if voltage is that low, I'm surprised there's enough capacity to start the car each time, unless you keep it on a maintainer which would give you enough juice for the start, but the battery has lost its capacitance ability.

Does disconnecting the battery really re-set the PASM?
I don't mind saying this as I am a new Porsche owner, Dec '16. I have a 2008 C4S Cab. 6 speed. I stalled my car while out doing some errands. I tried to start it again and it seemed like there was little to no battery strength which is odd as I had a new battery just installed when I purchased it right from my local Porsche dealer in Toronto. It finally started after a little coaching but a PASM FAILURE message came across my screen. This message only appeared once. It has been a few months since this message first appeared, but I check my oil level before starting it every time. Before this FAILURE message appeared, my oil level showed a small decrease over a period of a month or so. I would top it off as needed. My Porsche Dealer Sales Rep told me to keep an eye on this and to only top the level off with a 1/4 of of a quart at every level of the guage. Ever since the FAILURE message, my oil level guage has read full every single time I check it. I am concerned that this FAILURE message has affected my oil level guage and I am running with less oil then it actually shows.
Can anyone help with this situation.
Am I just paranoid or is there a problem?
I recently had some service performed at a shop here in Florida and I asked them about the slow starting ability of the battery, even though it is new. I was told that the 2006-2008 had an issue with the battery cables corroding and that new battery cables are the fix.
Could this be true or is he just fishing for another repair job?
Any help would be much appreciated. I hate not having a manual way to check the oil.

It does sound Luke you have the 997.1 bad harness wire problem, which manifests itself to look like a dead battery. This is not a simple repair as that cable has multiple connection points throughout the engine bay and if your AOS is original, have them replace that when they do the cable as they'll be going right by it during the other process.
The problem with the cable is bad crimps that cause internal resistance which makes the cable inefficient at carrying the heavy load of the starter and the slow cranking problem. We had to replace the cable on my wife's car and it resolved ghetto issue. Don't let them tell you that you need a new starter or alternator until the cable is replaced first.
Your oil gauge is probably fine - it's just not that great. You could loosen the drain plug just enough to create a slow leak, allow about 1/2 qt to slowly drain out and see if the gauge reflects that by dropping a line or two.

Thanks for your input. Sounds like you are very knowledgable when it comes to Porsche's.
Should I disconnect the battery again to see if the system res-sets itself and the oil guage shows a true reading.
I will also loosen the drain plug ever so slightly and drain out about 1/2 a quart to see if the guage changes.
Thanks again.

Any other ideas what may trigger the "PASM Failure" message? I disappears after turning the car off and immediately reappears once the car rolls a few feet.
I checked the battery and it is fine. Plenty of amps and holding a charge.
The fault does not appear in the Duremetric. I've even tried reading the code with the car on with the fault on the dashboard.
The wheels, brakes, etc had not been messed with previous to the fault appearing. I've check wiring on both sides and it looks fine.
Is there a way to check to see if the front shock are bad and need to be replaced?
