Good to hear. I've been on an american car kick lately and bought myself yet another mustang. I can't imagine they're very popular with this crowd, but I had a 91 notch as my first car, so I'm building this foxbody with all the parts I wanted back then. Once I'm done, I'm going to refocus on the 997 and plan out some additional upgrades.

I sold this car a few months back and wanted to cap off the thread with some final thoughts.
Specifically, I want to answer the question of "would I do it again?"
The answer to that is very easy.... NO. There are too many downsides to this kit in my opinion. Knowing what I do today, I would have simply sold the car and purchased a 996/997 turbo (budget dependent). Given that I did the installation and maintenance myself, the kit was a bit cheaper than upgrading to a turbo model, but this would not be the case if you had a shop do all the work. Additionally, there are no emissions controls which means that you'll have trouble with inspections, it was nowhere near as fast as a genuine turbo model, and reliability is a constant concern (due to the compression ratio, questionable tuning, and IMS issue).
I think the new owner got a nice car at a good price, but it's not one that I really miss having around. On the plus side, the project allowed me to dig into the 997 platform and gain a lot of technical expertise. For that I'm thankful.

Nice recap and another good confirmation on the consensus to upgrade to a turbo rather than going down the major mod route. I lstill ove my RUF car, but wouldn't do a setup from anyone else.

The RUF brand and fact that it's a supercharger changes the story quite a bit. The ability to utilize the stock exhaust (or at least an aftermarket one with cats) takes away one of my big complaints. I would also much prefer a belt-driven compressor as it would eliminate the risk of boost-creep and related tuning concerns (something I was experiencing).
Also forgot to mention one relatively significant problem .... the new owner took the car to the track shortly after purchasing and melted the rear bumper around the down-pipe. Not an ideal design

Sorry for the late reply! I don't get on here much these days after selling both Porsches. How's the car running and how many miles on the clock?
