Anyone know how to ship a 911 overseas?
I just heard, I am moving out of the country for work. Great opportunity so I cant pass it up.
Has anyone done it? Unless someone knows how to ship/register a car in Tokyo, my brand new baby might be for sale.

Not true. Just came back from Tokyo auto saloon. saw plenty of porsche there. They have more lower cars per capital than any state or country. The problem is you may not want a porsche when you see all the cars you couldn't buy here in the states. E.g Evo wagon.....J/k that might not be your taste . Can't wait to go back next year..

About Shipping
hello!
I do have experince about shipping cars overseas.
First, you need to contact your destinations customs. I am not aware of Japanese regulations since my destination was Korea, however, I belive you have to figure out how you could register the car there, would there be any duties and stuff like that. I belive you could get some info through used car dealers located in Japan dealing with importing foreign vehicles to Japan.
This first part is hard and sounds lost, however, if you do little search, it will start to make sense.
When I did mine, I found a broker who is only dealing with importing/exporting cars to Korea and I paid certain fee and he took care everything. The fee was very minimal compared to all the hassles I had to go through if I were to do myself.
Hope my experience helps a bit.
I will try to locate some broker for you if I can.

About gas, Asian countries are using good to high quility gas. I belive it is usually from 91 to 95+. Depending on gas company, they have diffrent octane ratings or if you want high level octane, they usually have supreme gas usually runs 97+.
I did not ship 911. My shipping was for F-car and they actually took care very well.
I think if you want maximum safety about transporting your car, you should go with air cargo which will cost you bit more money.
Most brokers will quote you based on boat shipping.
Give me a day or two, I will ask the broker if they do business with Japan.
