997 4/4S advice

Hi Chef: you're definitely right on the suitability of a 2/2S for winter with the right tires; I've just been using that as an excuse with the S.O. to go for the 4S. <g>
MW told me that XLF was not available on the non-S car, so I apologize for that.
Be good,

My recipe for the decision to 2S vs 4S boils down to three things:
1) Does it rain/snow alot where U live and is the car a daily driver?
2) Do you prefer the phatter butt of the 4 series?
3) Do you want to be a little different?
The X51 would certainly be nice as would PCCB,...but where do you draw the line for bucks??? For me, it was a no on these two things.
I think in a city you can get away with a 2 since the roads are always better plowed (boston and chicago for example),...I came from AWD and wanted to stay with it....and I love it. Since you had a turbo, you're ued to it!!!
Good Luck.

Dave you got it right by being precise. In a major city (if that's what you drive in on a daily basis) you really don't need more than winter tires. However if you live in a more rural area (e.g. parts of Maine, or Wisconsin) where the roads get cleared far less often and your 911 is your daily driver, then awd becomes the smart choice.
