PASM Suspension / DSC Controller - HELP NEEDED PLEASE!

I need tech help please - 2007 Carrera S with PASM all OEM 'new' suspension (Bilstein B4 damptronic shocks)

I had always felt my OEM PASM was too soft in Normal mode and too stiff in Sport mode. So I got a DSC suspension control Module due to all the great reviews I heard about it. I installed it (now about 9 months ago) and it did feel /handle better.. but I always felt it was still too stiff ...

SO.. I called and spoke with the company who suggested doing a data record test with the DSC controller to see that the shock commands in Normal mode are in the 1400-1500 milliamp range. So I did that.. and they were all in the 850-950 millamp range. They said that was unusual and that is the reason its running to stiff.

He suggested first checking the PASM fuses.... they appeared fine... I even replaced the 2 panel fuses just in case. I suggested maybe the controller is bad... so they kindly exhanged it. Interesting to note... when I put the old (OEM) controller back in... it actually felt smoother and softer (compared to the DSC controller). But I just dont have the DSC benefits of softening/stiffening adaptation.

So, I received and installed the NEW controller and Sadly, I'm still getting the SAME low milliamp numbers?? The company says they never experieced this issue before and doesn't know what to tell me at this point?

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? and how to troubleshoot the issue?? THANK YOU!

Hook the DSC controller up to your computer and read the table values to see what it should be sending for voltages according to the table.

Also, did you install the 3-axis accelerometer and where - back by the DME under the subwoofer and rear stiff or in the center console? If that's not installed correctly, it can cause the suspension to go full stiff with the DSC controller that used it, but the stock PASM controller would work normally because it doesn't use the signals from it.

Hi Petza914,
Thank you for the suggestions...

I'm not sure what you mean to hook the DSC controller up to my computer to see what it "should" be reading?

as mentioned.. I did run a computer data record test (as directed by DSC) with the DSC controller to read that the shock values. In Normal mode they were supposed to in the 1400-1500 milliamp range. All 4 were fluctuating between 850-975. The fronts were sligher higher than the rears. So the values were changing with driving and even occasionally peaked to about 1100 with quick turns and such... so, it appears its not 'full stiff' DSC company also felt accelerometer was fine because the values showed up okay?

And to your install question... yes, I installed it in the rear deck area off the DME... It was a bit tricky dealing the very fine guage wires... so I well can only think issue might be with the wiring... but they didn't think so.

I'm not sure if there is a way to check current going to the shocks or into the DSC controller or even the OEM controller to see if thats normal.

Also..... another thought... although I doubt this matters .... my shocks are Bilstein B4 damptronics... I guess not 'exactly' OEM' Porsche... I read somewhere the BIlstein are extremely close if not identical to OEM version.. but then I read they are approx 10% stiffer than OEM? Even if this is true.. I should still get the proper milliamp readings I would think.

Ugh... this is frustrating... not sure what to do next.
