Hp figures?
What kinda numbers are 997 's putting out at the wheels??? I read that ferrari 360's only put 320-330 stock at the wheels.... Just wondering how it would compare..
Would a 997's be able to beat a 360 from a roll...both stock cars...?

I failed to do a baseline, but after headers, cats, intake and GIAC I only put down 318RW on a DynoJet. The problem is my PSE I believe. With an aftermarket muffler I am sure I would get a good increase.

PSE doesn't make any power over the standard OEM mufflers, so naturally it is the restriction compared to aftermarket mufflers.
Generally I will take a tuners claimed hp increase and expect less.

another thing you should consider is peak hp vs hp at redline. that is another way to skew the numbers. you can have an exhaust that say makes an extra 10 hp for a split second, but realistically you only see 5-6 hp across the boards.
it's all a numbers game. for reference, i made around 275 rwhp on a 3.6 996. i don't think it would be unreasonable to see 305 ish on a 997S.

He stated right off the bat that he did not do a baseline. There are a lot factors that could have been involved in why he put down 318.
If he did a baseline and put down 270 stock on that particular dyno, then his gains are right on point.
Make sense?
The Test #'s are worthless unless you have a base from the same dyno.

Just out of curiosity how much hp does the 996 Gt3 put to the wheels stock and with similar mods. Would a bolt on 997S put down the same hp that a bolt on GT3 does given the extra displacement and the restrictive stock parts on the S?

Different dynos put down different numbers. 318 may be a very strong number for that particular dyno. From what I remember Dynojets put down much lower numbers than Mustang.
Performance parts can be tuned for peak HP (good for racing) or area under the curve (real world driving). Without seeing a full dyno sheet on any part there is no real way to tell what they are doing. Personally I will take area under the curve any day of the week.

I heard that the B&M air filter adds 15HP. I suggest all you need to do is install one and carry and additional 9 extras in the trunk. This will give you an additional 150 HP over stock. I am sure a dyno operator can print out a graph confirming this. You may not have an additional performance on the street, but just think....you'll be on your way in winning the dyno races.
