Rims decision time, help me decide
I narrowed it down to:
19" HRE 542R in black
19" HRE 547R in black
20" Techart Formula GTS
20" iForged Variant in black
Please give your input and some pics of those wheels on a 997 would be appreciated.
Thanks!
edit: Those 20s are in there because you gotta take into consideration San Francisco's steep driveways and roads.

You forgot to add Kinesis F110s to that list lol!
Also with all of the bad press that HRE has been getting around here with failures, poor coatins, rain issues and then the "legendary" 3 month waiting period I'd stay away from 'em

wow, you're brave driving your 997 in frisco especially afteer you decide to lower it and put the techart kit on it. The car seems low so i don't plan to add a lip after I drop my with the PSS9's. I'd go with 19's and a little thicker tire rather than going 20's with some extremely low profile tires especially with the roads in downtown frisco. Here's a picture of my with 19" iforged and 235/35/19, and 295/30/19. btw, i'd go with any other than the techart's because the techart's seem too bland imo.

Also, do you think it'll be too low when I have Techart bodykit on and lowered?

With the springs and then the tech art lip you are very low to the ground and will likely scrape

Regarding HREs, you wont have the 3 month lead time, I can guarantee that. All black colors at HRE now are powdercoated so that solves that issue. No evidence of any failures either, at least no one produced any evidence or photos.
That being said, the Kinesis is a great product. The only one I would eliminate is the iForged.

despite all the issues, i would say that HRE still is a good product. as for iforge, also agree that it should be eliminated. i had some DPE before and thought they were great also.
