No family , no kids , not married , mostly 1 or 2 in the car only ...
I love the looks , the handling , the sound of the car , BUT , the image of the cayman S vs the 911 is totally different...
911 = more respect

i saw a cayman s in person and was not impressed. it really looked like a boxster coupe, not much more. to me, it's a step up from many german and japanese coupes but not as prestigious as a 911. if i were to buy a cayman s, i would rather get a boxster s instead since performance is only a nick apart and you get a cab w better looks that is cheaper. at 50-60k, cayman s is overpriced. if you do plan to autocross or track your car, cayman s is a good choice. for street, get a boxster for better value or 997 for more prestige.
as for 997s, it's a faster and better sounding car. however, it's still a narrow body and you don't get much more standard equipment. you may save money going with a 996TT instead. Even used 996 GT3 is cheaper than a 997S.

If you can , get the Eleven S .
There is a reason why it costs twice as much as the Boxter .

The "S" is a bargain compared to the NON-S in my opinion if your looking for performance. The "S" gives you 355HP, Better Suspension Components, PSM, PCM, Bi-Xenon, Sport Steering Wheel, Bigger Brakes, Quad Exhaust Tips, Lower Ride Height, Suede Roof??, 3.8L engine with a lot more potential for power than the 3.6L!

997 C4 with GIAC flash and EVO box: 346 HP, 0-60 in 4.43 PCM, PSM, blah blah blah. And that's a tiptronic. You'll probably get more punch from a stick.
mods: $2500. Better traction than the S (which is going to be more useful in everyday driving than power).
Performance numbers on C2-4, the S models, Cayman S are so similar that you can't lose with any of them.
