Black TechArt Formula 19's "Weight Watchers"
#17
i just read this. been away since morning.
i forgot the exact number but my TA 19'' 996TT wheel was 25lbs front and 28lbs rear. it's hard to compare forged wheel & cast wheel. the weight of forged wheel is hard to beat no doubt.

However, the car feels completely different. You can really feel the weight difference. I thought small weight differences would only show up on the track.
My car is significantly slower. Plus I am not mistaken nor exaggerating. The cars performance is more important to me than the looks. Can somebody post the exact weight of the TA's and the Lobsters and the Kinesis? I know its somewhere on 6speed but the search function is buggy.
THANKS.
BTW- Thanks to Arling for setting me up. Lucent is simply great.

Right! i'm a bit pissed at this and want confirmation from some wheel experts please!
When I ordered my Techart 19" Formulas I was told the difference was roughly 4/5lb on each wheel as this was a big part of me making my choice. I have just come of the phone to Techart Germany to find out these clogs come in at 33lb & 36lb and i'm not that happy about it! The standard hollow Turbo wheel is about 23lb & 27lb, obviously that's an extra 10lb a clog! Anybody double check these weights out!!!

Thank you everyone for the great news. To tell you the truth- the streets feel a liitle better. The wheels might be absorbing some action under there.
Nevertheless, the unsprung weight is pretty noticeable.

Yeah, unsprung *and* rotating weight. I've run heavy wheel combos on my M3 in the past, and they made the car's steering unresponsive, affected braking, acceleration. . . just really slow feeling on the track.
I was going to get a set of techarts b/c they are a great looking wheel, they are just too heavy. I'm old school, and will likely go with tried and true, ltw wheels like some Fikses.
