By the way, I never came back on here to say that everything with my car is very kosher again. We had a simple hose issue. Didn't want to leave this one hanging out there.

 

I applaud the approach MexicoBlue has taken.

Doing serious mods is like getting married. You take the good with the bad and forget about who is going to make you whole if something goes wrong.

What's the worse that can happen? If he has to rebuild his engine, so what? He drove 1,800 miles w/o a problem. That's a great testament to the guys who fashioned the upgrades for him.

Some of the responses here remind me of guys who buy 5-10 year old Ferrari's, expect them to have 5K miles, and then absolutely expect the car to be perfect! Ridiculous.

Great going, MexicoBlue, and I hope you have a great time. It's a hot car for sure.

If you want performance beyond what the OEM provideds do it and worry about problems later.

 

Speaking of durability it looks like its been about 2 years since this thread was started. Any update on the supercharger? Everything still in working order?

I just saw this thread and thought I'd give you guys an update. I bought this car in March 2008. At the time of purchase I had Karl at IA put on PASM-compatible Bilsteins, Fabspeed high-flow cats, replace an 0xygen sensor, and had a dyno done which showed 432 rwhp.
I've been running the car as a daily fair-weather driver here in New Mexico, and we have lots of fair weather! The supercharger has been flawless. I got a check-engine light (code P109) which turned out to be the MAF sensor, cleaned the K&N (tough access!), and the car is running better than ever.
I just love the nimbleness of the PCCB/Dymag/rwd/sc setup. Especially at 7200ft of altitude, forced induction is the way to go.

996 Turbo, probably. 997 Turbo-NO. Too much torque on that beast.

Just dynoed my 06 997 C4S today. (VF-Engineering SC)

Environment: 78F, 80% Rel Humidity, 650 ft elevation- 93 Octane

445.9 RWH (Took the front drive shaft out since this was a 2 wheel drive dyno)
327.3 Max Torque

X51 header, AWE 200 Cell cats and PSE.

I'm happy with the SC and have have no significant problems thus far. I would recommend the VF-Engineering product. I can post the dyno chart if anyone needs to see it.

And,,, selling my 6 month old Fabspeed sport headers in the classified section if anyone interested. I decided to go with the Porsche X51 headers.

 

where in TX are you and who did the install ? Im looking to do this over the winter and could use all the first hand advice I can get !
