Installed some new EVO 997S Headers...

Just got a couple of sets of these on (sorry both are gone/sold and installed) but Todd was saying they got 14rwhp on these, which is non too shabby. I thought I'd show you guys why the 997S has the worst headers I've seen on any modern-day Porsche... The 996, 997 NON-S has way better headers than these janky things. Sweet way to collect

Those headers look pretty nice. I haven't done any work on my 997S, but it looks like there's ample space under there to do the header install. Would you say this is a fairly simple bolt-on affair i.e a do-it-yourself type of install, or are there any tricks to the installation?

Thanks in advance,

Andre

I agree - the 997S headers look very restrictive compared to the non-S headers. Do you know if aftermarket headers (EVO, AWE, etc.) can be used with the PSE? How about if you add high flow cats to the headers? I was told that if an exhaust system was changed out with new headers and cats that PSE could not be used. Thanks.

My headers are on the way from Evo too. PSE works fine they told me. I am not doing the cat's because I hear you can get warning lights on the dash. Champion says they lost power by adding Cats. They dont even sell aftermarket cats anymore.

Headers on 997S are real easy... Takes no more than an hour. Spray some Rost Off on the bolts and away you go Very simple!

One of the cars was a 997C4S with a PSE so the answer is yes If you change the cats though you've got issues.. you are correct.

What's the cost for headers? I just placed my '07 C2S order so now I'm making a "want list" of parts.

From your previous posts I see that you've installed both EVO and AWE - any comments on one over the other? Also, do you recommend or see any benefits to ceramic coating (Jet-Hot, etc.)? Thanks.

A thing that i don't understand when i look pics of aftermarket parts for porsche, especially headers : why manufacturers who makes aftermarket headers for a so expensive car aren't able to make true merged headers, those again looks like three equal lenght tube getting in one bigger tubing, really dont understand

Those will work better than factory, but they will not work as good as they could at that price.

I see vw bug headers better shaped :

THESE are true merged tubes !

Only AWE header seems to have a correct shape with merged headers , and prior bashing me, i don't work for them.

What do you mean by issues? I have never heard that before. I replaced the stock headers and cats with Faspeed parts a thousand miles ago and everything has been fine.

So yes You can do it with PSE. Before the mod I was wondering the same thing.

Hey, You are a good person to ask then, Is your car louder? I would like more sound with the PSE. Also Did you do the Giac flash last? Was it noticeable immediately?

Thanks!
